Integrated Supportive Supervision (ISS): Mechanism for an Improved Healthcare Service Delivery in Nigeria

 

In our continuous effort towards improving health service delivery in Nigeria, Life Transformation For Africa Initiative – Lift4Africa is implementing a Nigeria Strengthening Civic Advocacy and Local Engagement – Nigeria SCALE project, funded by USAID/Nigeria , USAID – US Agency for International Development , and implemented by Palladium.

We make up the Health System Strengthening (HSS) Cluster, comprised of She-AlertCare Foundation , Council for Affirmative Action , Women with disability integrity development initiative , and Bauchi State Network of Civil Society Organizations , anchored by Better Life Restoration Initiative- BERI . The HSS Cluster is implementing in 5 states –Kebbi, Sokoto, Bauchi and Ebonyi State, Nigeria.

The HSS cluster is implementing a project titled: Improved Quality Healthcare Service Delivery through Integrated Supportive Supervision (ISS), a project that aim to improve health service delivery using the integrated supportive supervision framework.

The objectives of the project are:
1. To advocate for a budget line for integrated supportive supervision in the health budget of Bauchi, Ebonyi, Kebbi and Sokoto state respectively.

2. To facilitate the establishment of an Integrated Supportive Supervision technical working group at the Local Government level of Bauchi, Ebonyi, Kebbi and Sokoto states.

3. To advocate for the creation of private sector engagement unit in Primary HealthCare departments of Local Government Areas to foster public-private partnership in Bauchi, Ebonyi, Kebbi and Sokoto states.

4. To improve and strengthen the capacity of cluster members.
