Diabetes: A Lifestyle Disease

2021 World Diabetes Day

Access to Diabetes Care: If Not Now, When?

With about 50% of all cases of diabetes undiagnosed, this means that about 232 million people are unaware that they are diabetic, not until their cases become critical or other underlying health complications that are associated with diabetes start manifesting. Such as; blindness, kidney and heart failures, stroke, and lower limb amputation.

Life Transformation for Africa Initiative (LIFT4Africa) in its effort in supporting the healthcare system in Imo State and Nigeria at large is bridging this gap in the Healthcare Sector by aiding in identifying and enabling this target group to become informed and conscious of their diabetes status.

Moving forward we strive to ensure a healthy society through our set out health goals, which is in line with the Universal Health Coverage objective.

Our goals include;

1. to identify these target groups through our routine free blood sugar testing.
2. Follow-up and counseling of those identified
3. Organizing seminars, lectures, and outreaches on diabetes.
